What is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a complete birth preparation programme that empowers you to feel calm, confident, and in control during labour and birth — however your journey unfolds. It combines modern science with deep relaxation, breathing techniques, and mindset tools to support a positive and gentle experience.

My Hypnobirthing Course is designed for all types of births and all types of families. Whether this is your first baby or you’re looking for a different experience, the course will equip you and your birth partner with practical tools to feel informed, supported, and ready.

You can choose to join a small, friendly group course or enjoy private sessions in the comfort of your own home or online.

What’s Included in the Course?

The Calm Birth Preparation Course consists of three sessions, each lasting around 1.5 hours, plus home-based relaxation practice using guided MP3s. There’s also an optional fourth session for first-time parents, covering the early postnatal period and essential baby care guidance.

You will learn:

  • How to access deep relaxation while staying fully alert and in control
  • Why birth doesn’t need to be feared — and how to work with your body, not against it
  • The role of hormones in labour and how to encourage a smoother, more comfortable birth
  • Breathing techniques for each stage of labour and birth
  • How to release fear and negative thoughts around birth
  • A massage technique that can reduce the likelihood of tearing or episiotomy
  • Ways to naturally support the onset of labour
  • How to reduce the need for medical intervention
  • How your birth partner can actively support you with confidence

The techniques you learn will support you regardless of how your baby is born — whether vaginally or by Caesarean — helping you stay calm, in control, and connected to the experience.

Who Is Hypnobirthing For?

I welcome all families. Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or something in between, hypnobirthing supports every kind of birth, in every setting. It’s especially valuable for those who’ve had a previous difficult birth and want a more empowered experience this time.

While you can start at any point in your pregnancy, most parents begin after the 20-week mark to allow time to absorb and practice the techniques.
